Poll and chat room facilities

Dear Kopi/teh lovers:

As a way of saying a BIG thank you to you all, Singapore Kopitiam has been upgraded to Premium Forum. With this enhancement, the Poll and Chat Room facilities are now enabled.

Please keep all the poll threads in the Polls Folder for easy finding. To create a poll, simply click on the "Create Poll" button at the top-left corner of the screen, and then choose "Polls" to place it in the Polls Folder.

To enter Chat Rooms, simply click on "Chat" button at the top-left corner of the screen. The current set-ups of the 10 Kopitiam Chat Rooms are as follows:

You may also create your own dynamic chat room by clicking the "Create Room" button at the bottom of the chat room page after you click on the "Chat" button. Dynamic chat room will be automatically deleted upon exit of all members.

If you have any suggestions to make, please feel free to drop a note in the "Suggestion Box" thread located in the Announcements Folder.

A BIG THANK YOU to you all!

Dear Kopitiam Regulars:

Today is exactly two weeks after Leongsam suddenly pulled the plug of the old SBF without prior warning. Many SBF old timers woke up in the morning of 6 August 2008 and found themselves to be boat people wondering where their destinations would be.

Singapore Kopitiam timely kicked start for the rescue. We provide delicious kopi and teh at lowest cost, and of course warm and friendly atmosphere for all forummers to discuss any topics under the sun. The familiar Delphiforums' user interface with your trademark monikers are the added bonus for the old timers.

Today is also the first day we crossed the all important psychological barrier of 5,000 messages posted. It boosts our morale to carry on the baton.

By the last count just a few minutes before midnight Singapore time on 20 August 2008, the total number of unique netizens who stepped through the front door of Singapore Kopitiam has reached 843. It is estimated that another five times of this number of guests visited Singapore Kopitiam without logging in. The daily total number of pages viewed has exceeded the all important psychological barrier of 20,000 pages. It means any messages you post here have the potential of achieving their greatest impact.

We hope that you like this Kopitiam as your home forum in the cyberspace. Singapore Kopitiam, established in 2006, is a virtual kopitiam where Singaporeans and ex-Singaporeans congregate to exchange ideas, express opinions, share common concerns, debate national policies and social issues, spread gossips/rumors/scandals, and talk about anything and everything under the sun. In addition to the Coffee Shop Talk, specialized sub-sections are provided: Politics, Beijing Olympics/Sports, Gambling/Hobbies, Woman's World/Fashion, Tech & Science, Religions, Stock & Finance, Emigration/Immigration/Travel, Crimes & Suicides, Jobs/NS/Study/School Life, Buy & Sell, Movies/TV/Celebrities/Gossips, etc.

Since the sudden closure of "Sammyboy.com's Alfresco Coffee Shop" (SBF) hosted at Delphiforums by its host Leongsam on 6 August 2008, Singapore Kopitiam has taken over the full roles of SBF by providing full functionalities and more.
